Sensei Ken Williams, 2nd Dan.

 

Sensei Ken Williams holds a full Coach Level 2 Instructor Qualification with  the British Aikido Board and has over 13 years experience in Aikido.  Sensei Williams was a student of the late Shihan Ralph Reynolds of the Aikido Fellowship of Great Britain and has spent many years training under one of his most Senior Instructors, Sensei David Packer, 7th Dan. 

 

During this period he also trained under and supported Shihan Kevin Christie, 7th Dan of the National Independent Aikido Association for a number of years.  He regularly attends courses and trains under noted Aikidokas such as, Shihan Terence Bayliss, 8th  Dan, Shihan Christian Tissier, Shihan Donovan Waite, Shihan Yamada and until his passing, the late Sensei Hayden Foster. 

 

Having practiced Martial Arts since his early childhood, he has a background in several other disciplines such as Judo, Jujitsu, Kendo and Wing Chun.  Sensei Williams enjoys all elements of Aikido practice.  As well as his technical ability he has a keen interest in Bokken, Jo and Tanto work as a practitioner and an Instructor.

 

He  began practicing Muay Thai in 1996 and his potential in the field of Martial Arts and his natural ability to teach was realised quickly enabling him to reach the rank of 2nd Dan Instructor in 1998.  Sensei Williams continues to teach Muay Thai classes in Birmingham to date.

 

     

 

 

 

 

 

Sensei Helen Williams, 2nd Dan.

Sensei Helen Williams, holds a full Coach Level 2 Instructor Qualification with the British Aikido Board.  Like Sensei Ken Williams, she was also a student of the late Shihan Ralph Reynolds of the Aikido Fellowship of Great Britain. Sensei Helen Williams began training under Sensei David Packer, 7th Dan and Shihan Kevin Christie, 7th Dan alongside her husband.  She also continues to develop herself by regularly training and attending courses with Shihan Terence Bayliss, Shihan Christian Tissier, Shihan Donovan Waite, Shihan Yamada and up until recently, the late Sensei Hayden Foster. 

 

Sensei Williams has practiced various Martial Arts over the past ten years including Kendo, Muay Thai, Wing Chun and more recently Tai Chi.  With a unique style influenced by her day to day involvement in crime prevention work, Sensei Williams brings another dimension to Martial Arts and their applications in real life situations from a female perspective .

 

She has been involved in Aikido research for over 8 years and regularly attends courses exploring different aspects of this very special Martial Art; her research includes the spiritual side of Aikido as well as weaponry. 

 

Sensei Williams has been involved in the personal and social development of children of different ages for over 20 years and believes in using Aikido as a medium to teach and encourage a positive lifestyle ethos to the young population within society.   As a result of this work, Sensei Williams has a keen interest in introducing Children to Aikido at a young age.  She is also the Child Welfare Officer for the Association, Senshin Aikido Ryu.
